About

Still from Canal Bank Walk (2007), 2-channel video

My practice is concerned with establishing reflexive relationships between the objective and the subjective. Within my work, boundaries become blurred and a cyclic narrative constructed between the polarities of content and form, and between what may be real or illusionary. By manipulating visuals and sound, I explore how time and space merge to create a context, and question what happens when these elements are separated and re-appropriated. Intentionally, traces of this manipulation & interference are left embedded in the work, integrating various types of “medial noise”.

Work appears in the form of immersive installation spaces, where relationships are established between certain structures; projected light or visuals; sound; and the viewer’s physical placement. Recent work takes the form of multi-channel video installation, incorporating stop-motion photography and video montage; while other works use sculptural installation to explore perceptual phenomena like anamorphism (accelerated & de-accelerated perspective) and sciagraphy (the fall of shadows). .
